ROBERTA L. ROBINS has practiced intellectual property law for over 25 years. During this time, she has represented innovative biotech companies, universities and research institutions, as well as large pharmaceutical corporations. Roberta’s practice areas include patent portfolio management, patent procurement, due diligence review, freedom to operate analyses, as well as infringement and validity opinions.

Roberta has created several significant patent portfolios for her clients, including portfolios related to gene therapy, antibodies, vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics. Roberta also provides strategic counseling to clients and helps her clients navigate the competitive patent landscape.

Her experience also includes working with foreign associates to obtain foreign patent protection. Roberta has participated in oral hearings, oppositions and appeals in the European Patent Office.

Roberta has founded several patent law firms and has trained and managed partners, associates, interns and paralegals.

Roberta received a J.D. cum laude from Hastings College of the Law, University of California. Prior to practicing law, Roberta performed graduate research at the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco State University in cell and molecular biology.
